XRP in Focus as ETF Momentum Builds

XRP ended June on a bullish note, rising 1.42% to US$2.2382 on Monday after a 0.93% gain the previous day. The catalyst? Growing confidence that a US-listed XRP-spot ETF could soon become a reality.

On June 30, the SEC formally acknowledged Grayscale’s application to convert its Digital Large Cap Fund (GDLC) into an ETF. Notably, GDLC includes exposure to XRP, along with BTC, ETH, SOL, and ADA. As of the latest report, the fund's composition is:

  • BTC: 79.9%
  • ETH: 11.32%
  • XRP: 4.99%
  • SOL: 3.01%
  • ADA: 0.78%

Grayscale’s filing is widely viewed as a critical stepping stone toward broader altcoin ETF approvals. Nate Geraci, President of the ETF Store, noted:

“Approving GDLC gives the SEC a low-risk test case for adding XRP, SOL, and ADA exposure via an ETF wrapper.”

The SEC’s final decision on GDLC is due this week. If approved, it could trigger a broader shift in regulatory posture toward altcoin ETFs.

Analysts See 95% Chance of XRP-Spot ETF by 2025

Market sentiment is increasingly pricing in a favourable outcome. Bloomberg ETF analysts James Seyffart and Eric Balchunas now assign a 95% probability of an XRP-spot ETF approval by the end of 2025.

Prediction markets are more cautious, with odds slipping to 60.2%, down from a June peak of 98.2%.

Much depends on the final resolution of the SEC vs. Ripple case. Ripple recently moved to withdraw its cross-appeal, and markets are watching closely to see if the SEC drops its appeal related to XRP’s programmatic sales. If both sides walk away, it clears a significant regulatory hurdle—and potentially opens the door for an XRP ETF.

XRP Price Outlook: What’s Next?

XRP’s momentum has shifted decisively bullish, outperforming broader markets. A break above the June high of US$2.3389 could set the stage for a move toward US$2.6553, with a potential upside to the January peak of US$3.3999 if ETF news breaks favourably.

Key support lies near the 50-day EMA, with downside risk to US$1.9299 if broader sentiment turns.
